Thank you all for praying... already my mom's rash has improved and she's been able to get more sleep. Praise God! He answers our prayers quickly! So far the doctors still aren't sure what the cause of the reaction is. It is either a reaction to the medication or possibly an internal infection. As you can imagine, the possibility of infection is pretty scary and with a weakened immune system, its really important for my mom to recover quickly.

My mom's next chemotherapy treatment was supposed to be scheduled for this morning, but because of everything that's been going on, they postponed in for a week. Please keep praying this next week, that she will have strength to recover and rest so that they can get back onto the treatment schedule.

I have been very touched by all of your kind words and constant prayers. I thank my God everytime I think of you...

Hi guys,

I'm writing to ask you to take some time out to pray for my mom. She's been having an allergic reaction of some sort to one of her mediations which has caused her to break out in a serious rash all over her body.

She's already changed her medication once last Friday when the rash was getting serious, but it doesn't seem to be helping. My parents will be trying to get an appointment with their doctor at Mount Sinai today to see what is going on.

Because of the rash, my mom has been having trouble sleeping and her breathing is mildly affected as well. She's really sensitive to temperatures and is coughing a bit. It seems to get worse in the evening when the itchiness is particularly hard to bear. As always, she's still in good spirits, praise God! My dad is quite worried though, which puts everyone on edge.

Please take some time out to pray for my mom. For relief from this rash, wisdom for the doctors who will be treating her, and physical strength to endure this and continue in her recovery.

Thank you all for your love and support. Deb

Hello everyone,

Things have been quite busy lately back at home which is why I haven't been able to update you all very often. Karen is back in Toronto for a one-month work placement, and work is quickly picking up for me, so there's a lot going on for everyone in my family. We're back to a full house of people, which is good but also challenging for all of us.

Thank you for praying for my mom and for my family. We have felt the results of your prayers! The first treatment (three weeks ago) passed quite well, with manageable side effects. So far, it hasn't been as difficult as the previous chemo treatments, praise God! For the first couple of days after the treatment, my mom is a bit tired and her appetite is decreased, but other than that... she's doing quite well! Amazingly, there is hardly any nausea or vomiting so far, or other things that we had been expecting.

However, in the last couple of days, my mom has started to experience the hair loss that we had been warned about. She has a couple of cute hats to wear around the house and a wig for when she goes out, but as you can imagine, it's still a very challenging experience to go through. I think my mom is handling it pretty well and my dad... moderately well. They'll need an extra measure of emotional strength and perseverence over the next couple of days, so...

Please keep praying! :) The second treatment is tomorrow and we would all feel very thankful if the side effects were as minimal as the last treatment. My dad really needs your support as well... he's doing better this time around, but the strain on him is still very apparent. Please pray that we will all keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ. By God's grace the treatments will be effective and my mom's (and my whole family's) strength and endurance will come from the Lord.

Thank you for your love and support... we experience it daily! :)
