Hello All!

I have some positive news to report! :) The (informal) test results from the last CT scan have shown that the chemotherapy treatments have been working! Praise God! Through the past treatments, ALL cancer tumours in my mom's right lung have decreased in size! This is really great news because it shows that the medication that the oncologist prescribed is effective for this type of cancer.

Praise God also for increased physical health of my mom. She's been feeling better physically over the past couple of weeks, which is also greatly encouraging. She is very positive, cheerful and at peace which is amazing and an example to us all.

I really thank all of you for your prayers… God has been so faithful to us, and this news is a reason to be joyful! :) Please continue praying for the following:

- Emotional strength for my dad – He's still having a difficult time with this and we all long to see the joy that he once had. Also, I really pray that this trial will strength (rather than weaken) his newborn faith. I have experienced God so much through this and I sincerely hope the same for my dad

- Increased white blood cell counts for my mom – The treatments cause my mom's white blood cell count to drop which causes here to be very susceptible to illness. Her treatments must be delayed when the count is too low, so it's quite important for her body to keep producing those good white blood cells! And also very important for my family, and anyone that comes in contact with my mom, to be healthy!

The next steps for treatment haven't been decided yet, probably three more chemotherapy cycles, which will take us until January 2003. We will find out more at the oncology appointment next week. I'll send out an update with any new information.

Again, I can't tell me how much joy it brings me to know that we are united in prayer. Indeed your prayers have been powerful and effective!

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5:16

Please continue praying! "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests." Ephesians 6:18

With love, Deb
