Sorry for the late update... I think you may have received the October 29th update late (not on October 29th!).
I'm still trying to figure out how to use this Yahoo groups thing. If you have any other people you would like to receive these emails, please email me directly: dk2leung@uwaterloo.ca. Thanks!
So, things are going well... my mom is very positive and cheerful all the time, praise God for that! This is the first week of the 3rd (and last) chemotherapy cycle of treatment.
I really praise God that the side effects that my mom is experiencing are really very minimal. Usually on the third or fourth day after the treatment, she feels some fatigue and tiredness... but on all other days, she's energetic, positive, eats and sleeps well... all good things!
Yesterday, along with the treatment, the doctor also took an x-ray of her lungs, and the cancer in her lungs seems to have "stabilized". I think this means that it hasn't spread from what they can tell. :) This is good I think. They will do a more detailed scan next week to see exactly how things are going, and what steps we need to take next.
To be honest, I'm a little bit disappointed, that there is still something visible in the x-ray (I had hoped that it would how that it is all gone!), but I have faith that God is in control and will take care of all things in His perfect timing.
Please continue praying for us... your love and support have been a joy and blessing throughout this trial... every email, icq message, phone call, bowl of soup, smile, chat, hug and prayer has been a source of comfort and hope!
